May be some of you are already wandering how is the right way to start SharePoint VSS Writer service in SharePoint 2013?
I also felt in the same situation. I don't want to start it via Services. So I spent 3 hours until I found that SharePoint VSS Writer service in SharePoint 2013 could be started via STSADM. Cool, isn't it?
"stsadm -o registerwsswriter" is the magical command.
And if you check Services you will notify the following:
